How to Create A WordPress Blog

What is Blogging?

Blogging is nothing but sharing our opinions with our reader about our knowledge, experiences like job experience, business experience whatever.

We have to create a platform to express our opinions on the internet. That web platform is Blog, regularly updating our blog is Blogging.

Start a Blog

Starting a blog is very easy in these digital days. We have a lot of resources on the internet in the form of text and video. We can easily create a blog and start blogging. To start a blog we need a domain, web hosting, cms application (to blog) and content. We will know about all these things.

What is Domain?

The domain is the address of our blog on the internet. Let me give me an example. If you’re ordered something in the Amazon or Flipkart. They deliver the product by their delivery boys. How you will you get your order, through your address.

Right, like somebody wants to know your blog, then where he will find your blog, through your domain name. Here is some examples of domain names google.com, facebook.com, bloggervj.com, wordpress.org.

How can we get the domain name? We can register domains from the domain registrars. Godaddy, Namecheap, BigRock these are very popular Domain registrars. I’m shown to you how to register a domain for your blog in the next section.

What is Web Hosting?

Recently we know about the domain, then what is web hosting? Web hosting is nothing but some space on the internet to keep your blog’s files like images, HTML pages and etc..

If anybody wants to access the information in your blog, you need to save your files in the webserver.

Like the domain, we’ll register a web hosting service for our blog. SiteGround, BlueHost, Hostinger, Hostgator, Gogreen Geeks, Vaporhost are the top hosting providers in the market. They’ll offer a different type of packages. As per our requirement, we’ll choose one of these.

What is CMS Application?

CMS application means Content Management System. To run a blog we need a CMS application. We have a different type of CMS applications in the market. Blogger, WordPress, Zoomla etc.. Blogger, WordPress and Zoomla are the very popular CMS applications.

In this post, we will use the WordPress Application to create a Blog.

How to Create a WordPress Blog?

We need a domain and Webhosting to create a self-hosted WordPress blog. We’ll do this in four steps. Those are:

  1. Register a Domain with Namecheap
  2. Register a Web hosting service with Vaporhost
  3. Link domain with the web hosting server
  4. Install WordPress in Server.

1) Domain Registration

Domain name is one of the important factors to create a successful blog. Some of Web hosting companies offer free domain registration with their hosting plans. Most of the people think they save the domain registration cost.

In my opinion, that’s a bad idea. Because every hosting company gives first-year registration with offer price. But they never give any offer to renew their hosting service. At that situation you had registered domain separately you can be move easily.

Otherwise, you have to stick for them, just because of the domain name. That’s the reason I’m saying to you to register domain name separately. You can register your domain with any domain registrar. I’ll prefer the Namecheap. Because price also comparatively equal to all the providers for the first year. But Namecheap gives us Whois Gaurd for free.

What is this Whois guard?

Whois data is the information of the domain owner, like email, phone no. and address etc.. Domain registrars gives these data to the web development companies/data selling websites. They interrupt us while we are in our important works.

Godaddy, Bigrock like companies are extra charging for this Whois guard service. Namecheap offering free service for a lifetime. That’s why I’m referring these Namecheap.

2) Web hosting Registration

Almost every blogger and YouTuber suggests Siteground / Bluehost. The only reason is their Affiliate commission is high than other products. But as a new blogger that is a burden to you.

Today I’m giving you a solution for this to you. I prefer Vaporhost web hosting service. Vaporhost service is very helpful to the new bloggers like you.

Why Vaporhost Web Hosting?

Vaporhost offers also different packages. You can choose their Professional Plan. Their plans start from rs.60/month. In this package, you will get 5GB space and 50 GB Bandwidth. For a new blogger/beginner this plan suits very well.  If you need more space or bandwidth then you can go with the next plan rs.120/month.

They also offering billing cycle from one month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year and more. Only some of the hosting providers offer this type of billing cycle like Hostgator.

I’m using this hosting server for my blogs and my clients also.

4) What is WordPress?

WordPress is an open-source application, created in PHP programming language. We can create beautiful blogs/websites with WordPress without any technical knowledge. We have lots of free and paid themes to design blogs. Also, we have lots of free and premium plugins for our blog needs like social sharing, SEO rankings, image compressions and many more.
